Flamenco dancer aids kids’ hospital

FLAMENCO dancer Nemmy Hatch from Matlock is aiming to raise a bumper crop of cash for a children’s hospital by organising a day of workshops and a night of music and dance.

Nemmy wants to boost the coffers of the Great Ormond Street Hospital which needs over £50m each year to ensure that it remains a world-class institution.

The hospital’s pioneering research and treatment gives hope to children who are suffering from the rarest, most complex and often life-threatening conditions, from across the country and abroad.

Nemmy said: “Great Ormond Street is a wonderful hospital for children and so by holding this event I am not only raising money but also raising awareness about the hospital.”

She will lead three dance workshops and take part in a show of Flamenco dance and music, alongside accomplished dancers from around the country, at The Fishpond, Matlock Bath, on Saturday, December 15.

The workshops will cater for children (12noon to 12.45pm, cost £3.50), beginners (1pm-2pm, cost £5) and advanced (2.15pm to 3.30pm, cost £7.50.

The evening show starts at 7pm and tickets cost £5.50.
