Celebrity Big Brother winner Denise Welch will shortly begin rehearsals for the national tour of Steel Magnolias, which hits the East Midlands in the springtime.

She beat bookies’ favourite Frankie Cocozza to grab the BB crown in this year’s televised reality show.

Denise will be among a star-studded cast treading the boards in the bitter-sweet comedy Steel Magnolias, which comes to Nottingham’s Theatre Royal from April 23-28.

The production also stars Kacey Ainsworth, Isla Blair, Cheryl Campbell, Cherie Lunghi and Sadie Pickering who play friends bonded together by mutual triumphs and tragedies.

Denise Welch is a regular presenter on ITV’s Loose Women and competed on the channel’s popular Dancing On Ice. Her other iconic television roles include Steph Haydock in Waterloo Road, Natalie Horrocks in Coronation Street and Marsha Stubbs in Soldier Soldier.
