Players are counting on shock tactics to draw the crowds to their production of a controversial comedy.
Tabs Productions are staging the black comedy Entertaining Mr Sloane at Chesterfield’s Pomegranate Theatre next week.
The work, by Joe Orton, focuses on a landlady (played by Karen Henson) and her homosexual brother (George Telfer) who entice a psychopathic young man (Chris Sheridan) into sexual liaisons.
First produced in 1964 the play is as bold and shocking as it ever was.
Entertaining Mr Sloane will be staged at the Pomegranate from Tuesday to Saturday, May 10 to 14 at 8.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 3pm.
