A NEW start for one of the area’s leading music shops looks set to bring a new live-band venue to life too.
Real Time Music is moving from its long-held position on Newbold Road to new purpose-designed premises on Marsden Street, Chesterfield.
And to celebrate the move, we’ve teamed up with Real Time to offer a fantastic prize.
We’re giving away a Peavey guitar starter pack, complete with amp and bag, worth £199.
Real Time has been running for nearly 20 years and is owned by Mark ‘Stevo’ Stephenson, a former Royal Marine and professional drummer
The store has been at the heart of the local music scene, helping to run the annual Oakstock all-day extravaganza which today has morphed into Real Time Live.
And the new premises on Marsden Street look set to continue Real Time’s commitment to gigging - with plans for a dedicated live music venue to open above the shop.
Stevo said: “The aim is to make Real Time a one-stop shop, where beginners can buy their first instrument, learn how to play it with our in-house tuition and even play their first gig at the new Real Time Live venue.
“It’ll also mean we can run workshops and demonstration nights, as well as the gigs and get even more involved with the local music community.”
The new Real Time shop will be opened by local music legend Dave Berry at 10.30am on Saturday, January 21, when the store will be running a number of opening-day special offers.
