Steampunks back on their home turf

BB Blackdog.

BB Blackdog.

Derbyshire steampunk rockers BB Blackdog are back on home turf with a series of local shows.

The band have already completed almost 50 gigs this year, including a trip to the States where they headlined two festivals.

And now they’re bringing their unique blend of rock with a psychedelic blues feel to more local audiences.

First they play The George and Dragon, Bridge Street, Belper, on Friday, July 13, from 9pm.

Next they move on to the Brewery Tap, in Derby, from 4pm to 8pm on Sunday, July 15, before a well-earned break prior to appearing at the Rock and Blues Festival, Pentrich, on July 28.

As usual the three piece band will be accompanied by Demolitia Tribal, providing Dance and stage show duties at the concerts.

BB BlackDog are making waves in the rapidly growing steampunk scene, where people dress in Victorian style with a science fiction twist.

Dale Rowles from the band said: “ We’re loving the steampunk scene, everyone’s so friendly, creative, and supportive, its nice to be around polite well mannered people, just out to have a great time, dressed splendidly.”
