Searchers help to rediscover sixties

The Searchers

The Searchers

They say that if you can

remember the sixties, then you weren’t there.

But Chesterfield’s Winding Wheel had us reliving our youth as The Searchers had us rocking and singing along to all our favourite songs.

These including classics tracks like Needles and Pins, Sugar and Spice, When You Walk In The Room, Don’t Throw Your Love Away and two of my favourites recently added to the set, Love’s Melody and Baby, I Do. With the current line up of John McNally, Frank Allen, Spencer James and Scott Ottaway, they still appeal to audiences of all ages and continue to tour extensively both here in the UK and abroad.

Their all evening “solo” shows are a must for all fans

Frontman Frank Allen always manages to keep the audience entertained with his anecdotes and witty comments.

With a remarkable career now spanning five decades, a 50th Anniversary CD will soon be available, called Hearts In Their Eyes.

For more on the band, visit the Searchers official website www.the-searchers.co.uk and Scott Ottaway the drummer with The Searchers has his own website www.scottottaway.com

Frank Allen has also written two books which are well worth reading, Travelling Man, which which also gives Chesterfield a mention, and The Searchers And Me which is an interesting history of the group.

Whatever you do try and get to see The Searchers, you definately will not be disappointed.
