Band Of The Year: Final Line-up!

Rockers Valve riffed their way into the final of the Derbyshire Times Band of the Year Compeition this week.

The band stormed Chesterfield's Winding Wheel and impressed the judges at Monday night's second semi-final to take the heat out-right.

They join the Culture Thieves, who were crowned overall winners of the first semi-final, in the coveted last six.

Joining them in the grand final are the four highest-scoring bands from the two heats.

They are Mexican Kids At Home, Millhouses Park, Pocket Satellite and The Shirks.

They'll all be back at the Winding Wheel on Monday, November 17, to duke it out for glory, goodies and the kudos of being named Derbyshire Times Band of the Year 2008.
