SIR — From May 1 I am no longer a teacher and deputy head at Hady Primary School due to mobility problems caused by an industrial accident.
I have taught in Derbyshire schools for nearly 34 years, 24 of them at Hady Primary School and would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported me during that time as pupils, parents, Governors and colleagues. This was particularly s
o when I was acting head there.
I would also like to thank the numerous organisations (including the Derbyshire Times) who helepd with the many projects we initiated at Hady which so enriched the educational experience as well as the enjoyment for all who were involved.
Together we enhanced the landscape of Hady and Spital by planting over 15,000 trees, 6,000 bulbs and adding to the amenities of the school with the Eco classrooms and the Chesterfield in Bloom garden. With your help children were involved in the local community, supported borough and Derbyshire County Council events and helped others with the many charities we supported.
I have many treasured memories of my time at Hady and I wish the school a happy and successful future.
