Soldier son praises family's support

SIR — I'm a local man from Clay Cross who is currently serving in Afghanistan with 5 Scots Infantry Battalion.
I have been here for three months now and would like to thank my mother, father and family back home for their wonderful support — and especially my girlfriedn Katie Lowe who is expecting our first child at the end of August.
I love them all.
