Like many places, Chesterfield has a rich history of amateur operatics.
And this picture captures some of that.

It is of 'Fraw Maitendy and Dutch Girls' from the Robinson Junior Operatic Society 1934 production of "Jan of Windmill Land".

The picture has been sent in by Phil Dawson, of Vincent Cresent, Brampton, Chesterfield, whose mother Mary (nee Herrean) took part in the production.

Those pictured are: back row (left to right): Joan Bolland, Eileen Gretorex and Eva Carr.

Front row: Winnie Coulson, Mary Herrean, Nellie Fitch, Marion Howard and Jean Ashton.
