Clay Cross reader Tony Greenfield is asking if any of you can help him identify one of the players in the Clay Cross and District Under 11s soccer team (above) of which he was a member.
"The only name I need is the player on the extreme left of the back row," says Mr Greenfield, from Hall Terrace.

He tells us that the photograph was taken before a game against North East Derbyshire at Norton Woodseats ground at Dronfield in the 1957-58 season.

Names of the other players are — Back row (left to right): — —, Philip Shaw, Ernie Wilkinson, Graham Hawkins, Mick North and Tony himself (all of Clay Cross).

Front row: John Downing (Clay Cross), Brian Gray (Holmgate), Murray Stone (Clay Cross), Bryan Stone (Holmgate) and John Roberts (Tupton).

The coach was Mr Jack Coleman of Clay Cross.

If you can provide the missing name write to us at: Mailbox, Derbyshire Times, Station Road, Chesterfield, S41 7XD or email: editorial@derbyshiretimes.co.uk
