SIR — On Sunday, April 27, I witnessed the Scout Church Parade, from the Town Hall to Chesterfield Parish Church and back to commemorate St George's Day.
It was most noticeable that the national flag of our country was not flying on the mast at the Town Hall on such an important occasion.

The discipline of all the young people taking part was exceptional and credit must be given to their leaders, who voluntarily give up their time at the various weekly training sessions.

I realise Town Hall flag comments have been voiced many times previously, but on this occasion, in my opinion, it was an insult to all these dedicated people.

RAY BATTESON,
17 Orchards Way,
Walton Road,
Chesterfield.
