SIR — I am the granddaughter of the late Mr Fred Greaves, VC, and believe that having the section of road from Junction 29a of the M1 named after my grandfather would be a fitting tribute to his memory.
Julie Morgan Hazelwood,

5 Ford Street,

New Tupton, Chesterfield.

SIR — Please add our names to the fight to get due recognition for Fred Greaves and William Coffey.

On Armistice Day this year we will again be in Ypres at the Menin Gate and will be visiting Poelcapelle where Sgt Greaves won his VC.

It is an on-going pilgrimage of ours to visit the graves and memorials of all the men and boys of Brimington who lost their lives in the Great War. And although Fred Greaves lived through the terrible conflict he did come to live in Brimington eventually and deserves our due respect and eternal thanks.

SALLY AND STUART MULLINS,

Chesterfield.
