Memories of May Day festivities at William Rhodes School in 1946/47 have touched a chord with many of our readers.
And Doreen Wheeldon (nee Band) is hoping that this one will do the same.

It was taken circa 1947/48? at William Rhodes and she is pictured on the far left of the front row.

Mrs Wheeldon, from Devonshire Avenue East, Hasland, says: "I am sure there are classmates out there who will remember their friends."

Those she can name are:

Back row: Trevor Crane, — —, Sydney Williams.

Fifth row: Shirley Dunks, – –, Judith Askew, Patricia Wilcockson, — –.

Fourth row: David Godber, Eunice Sydall, — —, Marion Yeldam, Terry Woodhouse?

Third row: Mary Graham, — —.

Second row: — —, Isobel Hindley, David Ballingal, Susan Taylor, Gerald Harpham, — —, — —.

Front row: Doreen Band, Shirley Fawbert, Ann Revil, Wendy Brown, Ann Osborn, Gillian Cartwright and Pamela Raughton.

"Can any welcome names be added?" adds Mrs Wheeldon.
