Teams have been invited to take part in a new football tournament at Saltergate.
Called the Community Cup, the seven-a-side competition, for adults over 18, is to be held at Chesterfield FC's ground on Saturday, May 10, starting from 12.30pm.

Entry is limited to 16 teams, which will play against each other in two mini-leagues
of eight for a total of ten minutes each match.

The pitch will be quartered up so there will be four games on the go at any one time.

The top two in each league will play a semi-final, the winners of which will contest the grand final, which is expected to be played at approximately 5.30pm.

This new tournament is being organised by Andy Morris and the new-look Chesterfield FC in the Community Scheme.

There will be an entry charge of £100 per team but admission for spectators will be free.

Youngsters will also get a chance to play at Saltergate as the regular Saturday Morning Club, for ages 5-14 years old, will be held at the Recreation Ground for one day only on the morning of Saturday, May 10 from 9.30am-11.30am (registration from 9.15am).

For more details about the Chesterfield FC in the Community Cup contact Andy Morris on (01246) 209765.

Members of the Spireites' Business Club can also contact Chris Breeze (01246) 456789.
