Chesterfield have signed the former Sheffield Wednesday forward Wade Small on a one year deal until June 2010.


He goes straight into the squad for this Saturday's home game against Morecambe.

The former MK Dons trainee spent three years with the Owls before going out on loan to Blackpool and most recently was with Charlton Athletic.


Manager John Sheridan said: "Wade Small is an exciting player who is capable of causing problems for the opposition. He is quick and pacey and although he can play in all the forward positions he is also a versatile player. "



He added: "He will be a very useful addition to the squad and I am excited he has joined
