JORDAN Bowery looks set to be off to Barrow.
The Chesterfield FC frontman was on the verge of agreeing a six-week loan spell with the Conference club in midweek.

And there is speculation at Saltergate that another member of the first-team squad could be about to tie up a loan deal with a League Two club.
Nottingham-born Bowery (18) has made 11 appearances this season – all from the substitutes bench.

An energetic and industrious player, he has scored just once, in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory over League One side Huddersfield Town.

The switch to Holker Street would see Bowery boost his match fitness as he will be likely feature in the Bluebirds starting line-up.

The other player who is about to move on loan to another League Two club, has not been named by the football club.

Another fringe player, midfielder Lloyd Kerry, moved on loan to Conference North side Alfreton Town last week.

Meanwhile, David Perkins could not have picked a better time to score his first Chesterfield goal.

The midfield man made his mark in the 63rd minute and his strike earned John Sheridan's men a 3-2 triumph over promotion rivals Rochdale.

Two goals from master marksman Jack Lester put Chesterfield firmly in the driving seat before Dale pulled level in the second half and the clash could have gone either way. But Perkins (27), on a three-month loan spell from League One side Colchester, found the target from 20 yards to seal the verdict.

Perkins, who made 58 appearances for the Lancashire club when he was on their books, received a warm welcome from the home supporters before the game and out of respect to his former club refused to celebrate his winning goal.

The player, who has made seven appearances for the Spireites since his move from the Essex club at the start of October, is no stranger to followers of Chesterfield.

He began his career with Morecambe and was a member of their team when the Shrimps knocked Chesterfield out of the FA Cup in 2002.

After seven years at Christie Park, Perkins moved to Rochdale and in January, 2008, he hit a hat-trick at Saltergate as Dale won 4-3 and made off with the points.

The blond bombshell moved to Colchester for an undisclosed six-figure transfer and made seven appearances for the Weston Homes Community Stadium outfit this season – and scored a goal in the 7-1 romp at rivals Norwich on the opening day – before the switch to Saltergate.

The victory at Rochdale saw Chesterfield climb up to fifth spot in the table and left them just three points off top spot.

And the boss will be hoping for another three points on Saturday when bottom club Darlington visit Saltergate.

On Tuesday, Chesterfield travel back across the Pennnies to face Bury. True Blue Travel departs Cross Street at 5pm, cost £12. Seats on the coach cost £12.

* Gregor Robertson, who broke his left leg during the Johnstone's Paint Trophy match against Carlisle last Tuesday, is back home in Nottingham.

The defender was rushed to Chesterfield Royal Hospital from Saltergate after being stretchered off the pitch and he underwent an operation the following day when the tibia and fibula bones in his lower leg – both of which were fractured – were pinned.

He is due to see a specialist next week.
