Season ticket sales at Chesterfield FC are up on last season.

Cut-price tickets are still available at Saltergate but the Early Bird time period, when season tickets are discounted by the maximum amount, ended on Saturday.

Blues office manager Sue Green reported healthy sales. ''There's still some checking t
o do, but we're ahead of last season at this stage,'' she said.

With the credit crunch cutting deep, there were fears that season ticket sales could be hit, especially as the team finished in a disappointing tenth place.

Club chiefs decided to put a freeze on ticket prices before former manager Lee Richardson, who was unable to guide Chesterfield to the League Two play-offs for the second season running, was cut loose.

Fans have an opportunity to buy discounted tickets until Saturday, June 13.

Up to that point, adult prices on the Karen Child Kop will cost £290.

From the following Monday, tickets in that area of the ground will cost the full price of £315.

June 13 is also the deadline for reserving seats for existing season ticket holders.

Concessions are available for those aged over 65 on July 31 and 18 and under on July 31, 2010.

Juveniles should be 14 or under on July 31, 2010.

A host of money-saving incentives are included in the season ticket package.
