Steve aims to boost numbers

Dedicated Spireite Steve Tann, the new chairman of Chesterfield FC Supporters' Club, has launched a membership drive.
He wants as many followers of the club as possible to join up now the green light has been given for the new 10,500 all-seater stadium.

''With the move to our new home imminent, we especially need to have as many members as possible to ensure maxi
mum involvement in the forthcoming plans,'' he said.

Steve said the Supporters' Club helped finance the Kop roof in the early 1960s and the building of the wall on St Margarets Drive and more recently had sponsored players' kits, donated cash to the players fund and provided the club with video camera equipment.

''We need a large membership to continue this support as the club progresses through the very important chapter of its development in the next year or two,'' he added.

Membership costs £3 for adults and £1 for U18s.

Membership forms are available from the club shop and can be can be downloaded from the CFC website.
