ROCHDALE 2 CHESTERFIELD 3

David Perkins netted a 20-yard shot to clinch this fine victory for John Sheridan's team on Saturday.

His timely strike came after Chesterfield had surrendered an early two goal advantage.

Jack Lester put the Spireites ahead in the 25th minute and added a second three minutes later.

The home side reduced the arrears in the 49th minute through O'Grady and were on level terms in the 52nd when Dawson found the net.

But Chesterfield were not to be denied and Perkins netted in the 63rd minute to give Chesterfield victory and move them up to fifth in the table.

Attendance: 3,011.
