BRADFORD CITY 1 CHESTERFIELD 0

Chesterfield were denied at least a point by a superb goalkeeping display from City's Scott Loach - and slumped to what could be a costly defeat in their hunt for a play-off place.

Loach made two great saves as Bradford held on to victory after a 16th header from Peter Thorne.

Chesterfield: Roche, Picken, Kovaks, Downes, Robertson (Moloney 65), Lowry (Smith 57), Niven (Winter 79), Kerry, Leven, Fletcher, Dowson.

Attendance: 13,825.

Whiel Chesterfield were losing rivals Rochdale beat Rotherham 4-1 and Wycombe drew 0-0 at home to fifth-placed Stockport.


CHESTERFIELD 4 ACCRINGTON STANLEY 2

Spireites kicked off the Easter campaign with a victory - coming from 2-0 down to secure all three points.

The visitors went two up with goals from Proctor in the 23rd and 31st minutes - the second from the penalty spot - before Niven pulled one back within seconds for Chesterfield.

Chesterfield were on level terms in the 58th minute thanks to an own goal by Roberts and went ahead a minute later through Lowry.

Ward completed the scoring for the Blues in the 85th minute.

Attendance: 3,274
