Up to 150 new homes could be built on the site of Chesterfield FC's Saltergate ground when the club relocates to a new stadium.
A draft planning brief for the site has just been published, providing guidance on how the land should be redeveloped after the Spireites move to the recently-approved new stadium that will be built on the former Dema Glass site on Sheffield Road.

The brief proposes the redevelopment of the stadium for between 120 and 150 new homes, along with open space and commercial office use along Saltergate and vehicle access from Cross Street and St Margaret's Drive.

Copies of the draft brief can be obtained from Chesterfield Borough Council's website, the Town Hall and the Central Library in Chesterfield.

Residents' comments and views can be sent in writing to Forward Planning, Chesterfield Borough Council, Town Hall, Rose Hill, Chesterfield S40 1LP or by email to: forward.planning@chesterfield.
gov.uk by October 10.

* A public meeting to allow residents the chance to discuss proposals in more depth will be held today at 6.30pm in Committee Room 2 at the Town Hall. Call Alan Morey on (01246) 345371 if you would like to attend.
