Chesterfield FC is on the look-out for the best young talented footballers in the U15 age group for its highly-regarded Centre of Excellence but so far it seems to be missing out on lads from the north Derbyshire area.
An official invitation for junior teams, which compete in the Sheffield & District League, to recommend their best two players for special trials for next season has unearthed more than 30 youngsters.

But only one of these has so far come from the Chesterfield area, the vast majority have been recommended by their Sheffield junior clubs.

Centre of Excellence manager Mark Jules said: "We want to give talented local lads, who could make the grade, the chance to be coached next season by the town's professional football club and, in accordance with football regulations, we have approached junior football clubs in this age group for their recommendations.

"We want to ensure that no worthy contender in the Chesterfield area has slipped through the net because next week is the final week for consideration before the Centre ends its season."

Junior football club secretaries wanting more information should contact Centre of Excellence manager Mark Jules as soon as possible on 07919 053 668.
