The Rotary Club of Hope Valley is staging its annual Peak Challenge Shield Charity Quiz tomorrow, Friday, September 28 at Calver Village Hall, to raise much-needed cash for Edale Mountain Rescue team.

Once again Rotarian Brian Knox is setting an evening of mind-bending questions, rewarding both the winners and runners-up with special packs of beer donated by Brampton Brewery. The winning team will also be presented with the prestigious Peak Challenge Shield which it will hold for a year.

Brian, who will be chairing his 27th quiz, said: “We are keen to hear from any clubs, pub groups or individuals who want to enter a team. It’s always a fun evening but there is also a serious side to the event. Edale Mountain rescue team is wholly dependent on donations to allow it to provide a 24/7 service to those who find themselves in trouble on our local hills and moors.” For more details, call Brian on 01433 621064 or via email to Bolscot@yahoo.co.uk.
