FOLK musicians have handed over the proceeds of an annual charity concert to representatives of Chesterfield’s Ashgate Hospice and Sheffield’s Cavendish Centre for Cancer Care.

The latest Pulling Strings concert in Chesterfield raised a total of £740 which was split between the two good causes.

Concert organiser Martin Sumpton presented one cheque to Annette Gibson, on behalf of Ashgate Hospice, and the other to singer-guitarist Abi Reckart, who stood in on behalf of the Cavendish Centre.

The presentation was made at the concert, organised in association with Chesterfield Folk Club, which was held at Club Chesterfield in December with performances by acoustic duo Tom McConville, who played the fiddle, and Dave Newey on guitar.
