Thigh high man

I have followed with interest the Derbyshire Times’ coverage of traffic chaos in Hasland.

This has brought up a serious Chesterfield-wide issue: the ludicrous decision by the highways department to put the green/red man at thigh height, not straight ahead of pedestrians.

From childhood, we automatically look in front of us for signs of permission or prohibition, not look to our legs.
