Seeking approval
SIR — I maintain a web site for Clay Cross genealogy and local history and have been loaned three copies of the Clay Cross Secondary Modern Boy's School /Clay Cross County School's magazine called Leo, to be reproduced on the web site. These are from Autumn 1962, 1963 and 1966.
The problem I have is, who owns the copyright to the articles within them?
Seeing that the school is now closed, I have been advised that the writer’s
of these articles should be contacted and their permission obtained.
To make matters worse, many members of staff who contributed articles have passed away, I believe, and the pupils were only acknowledged by their initials.
May I please request that any former
member of staff or pupil who had articles published, contacts me at the
address below to state whether they are in favour or not for their work to
be published on the internet.
