Light up
Earlier this week I had to leave home for an early appointment in Chesterfield.
I set out in the near-darkness of a gloomy, misty morning, and on my way I counted seven vehicles going in the opposite direction displaying no lights whatsoever and all dark colours.
I believe there is now an unanswerable case for a change in the law to compel all vehicles to display lights at all times.

Friday, March 2, 2012 at 04:26 PMJim Heading's (Ashover) letter (16th Feb) hit my humour bone. If dumb-heads can't see the reason for HEADLIGHTS (refer to Highway Code) when its dark, what makes anyone believe tightening the law to display HEADLIGHTS when its light is going to make a dot of difference to them? I challenged one dumb-head over this issue just a few days ago, the response? "I live here!" I rest my case. J Tayor Dunston
