Don’t take away shop

I read a story in the DT (Jan 26) about demolishing Hady Social Club. Have Chesterfield Borough Council in their wisdom considered the residents?

What will happen to our shop which is essential to a lot of elderly and disabled people for their daily milk and papers.

Demolish the building and you take us back to the 1950s when we didn’t even have a local bus service. After a lot of hard work by residents we had a shop, post office and club built.

Do not take away our shop, develop it. It is the hub of the community.
