Knitting Nannies comfort soldiers
Keen knitters are making life more comfortable for troops in Afghanistan.
Members and friends of St Matthew’s coffee mornings in Renishaw have been using their craft skills to make blankets and hats for the armed forces.
The Knitting Nannies, as the group is affectionately known, have sent more than 115 blankets and 260 hats to keep the troops warm during the winter.
Letters of appreciation are regularly sent by the soldiers.
