KILLAMARSH & RENISHAW: Church services

Members of the congregations of St Giles, Killamarsh and St Matthew, Renishaw, together with the Rev Canon Helen Guest and Rev Michael Guest, attended an Epiphany carol service at The Cathedral Church of All Saints, Derby, on Sunday, January 20.

The service was led by the boys and lay clerks of the Cathedral Choirs of Derby and Southwell. Mr William Tucker, Lord Lieutenant for the County of Derbyshire, Canon Jacqui Jones, Precentor of Southwell Minster and Canon Helen Guest read the lessons.

After the service refreshments were served in the Cathedral cafe.

There will be an Ash Wednesday service of Holy Communion in both churches on Wednesday, February 13, at 7.30pm.

The Diocesan Lent Course, written by Bishop Alastair, will be used in both churches. The meetings for St Matthew will be held on Monday

evenings throughout Lent at 7pm, in the Community Room and for St Giles in the Rectory on Wedneday evenings at 7.30pm.

Lent prayer at St Matthew and St Giles will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 6.30pm.
