Howzat for high achievers

editorial image

Cricketers have been rewarded for their achievements at their club’s annual dinner.

Wingerworth S. Cricket Club’s chairman Chris Hutchins presented the player awards at the ceremony in Chesterfield Football Club’s Proact stadium.

For the first time the club recognised the efforts of its younger members with Young Achiever Awards being presented to Matt Grant, Max Jackson, Rees Pollock and Jack Holmes. Jack then received the Ken Haw trophy for his contribution in the past year, which was presented by Colin Haw and fixtures secretary Mick Haw.

Other recipients of awards were Matt Haw (1st & Friendly Team Batting); Colin Haw (1st Team Bowling); Steve Jacques (Friendly Team Bowling); and Josh Stanley (Most Improved Player and Player of the Year).

Anyone wishing to play cricket for WSCC next year should contact the club at wscc@chutchin.free-online.co.uk.
