Exhibition of mining down the years

Mining history dating back as far as 1589 is the theme of this month’s exhibition at a north Derbyshire heritage centre.

Newspaper articles on strikes and disasters, maps of 60 local mine shafts and information on local mines is currently on show in Barlborough.

Staff at the village’s heritage centre, where the exhibition is running until the end of February, are appealing for any mining-related items which would enhance the exhibition. Contact (01246) 810100.
