Stuart Bradley, team scorer and past president of Chesterfield Rotary Club, said: “In the end Matlock just had the edge despite our ‘bagger five’ captain, past president Alan Clarke, having an amazing spell of five strikes in a row on the very last game. We certainly wish Matlock all the best in the next round.”

Meanwhile, Matlock Rotary president Peter Wigglesworth, said: “It was a really fun night with our Rotary colleagues and we were so delighted that ten-pin bowling skills learned quite a few years ago are now starting to come back to the fore.”

In the first round the Matlock team had previously beaten Heanor Rotary Club, whilst Chesterfield had progressed at the expense of Beeston Rotary Club. Matlock now go on to the third round of the Rotary District competition.
