Stonebroom Mr E. Towndrow : Obituary

Mr E. Towndrow Stonebroom Mr Ernest Towndrow, of High Street, Stonebroom, has died at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, aged 80. Born at Clay Cross and a resident of Stonebroom for 50 years, he worked for the NCB underground and later as a clerical officer, retiring in 1986. Mr Towndrow was a well known local pianist and enjoyed brass bands and classical music. He also enjoyed cricket, horse racing, holidays abroad and walking his dog and he was a Spireites fan. He leaves widow Christine, daughter Michelle, son Darren and his partner Kath and sister Joan. The funeral has taken place. Funeral director: S. Hallam & Son. 122 High Street, Stonebroom, Alfreton.
