Women are being urged to step out with around 900 walkers on a midnight hike for hospice patients.
Ashgate Hospice, on Ashgate Road, Chesterfield, has launched its Midsummer Midnight Walk appeal for women to raise thousands of pounds for people suffering serious and life threatening illnesses.

Emily Evans, event organiser and hospice fund-raise
r, said: "Around 900 walkers have signed up and we're keen to top the 1,000 mark.

"So we're appealing for as many women as possible to get in touch and sign up for the walk before our deadline."

Night-owls will set off from Cliffe park, Dronfield, at midnight, on Saturday, June 21, and walk 6.5 miles to the hospice and return to the park for a free snack.

Walkers must be at least 16, but those aged 14 to 16 are also welcome if accompanied by an adult, and they must apply before May 30.

Those interested can call the hospice on (01246) 567250 or 568801, visit the website www.ashgatehospice.org or email
emily.evans@ashgatehospice.nhs.uk for entry forms and details. Volunteer marshalls are also needed.

Entry includes a £10 registration fee and walkers will receive sponsor forms to help raise as much money as possible.
