Visitors enjoyed a weekend of pottering around Brampton when the area went back to its roots.
The Gospel Mission Cong-regational Church co-ordinated the first Brampton Potteries Festival, on Saturday and Sunday.

Nine displays of pottery and flowers in the gardens on Old Road and at the church were based on children's stories including Mary Poppins and Bill and Ben.

Chris Townsend, church secretary, said: "The festival succeeded in getting people to work together on this wonderful community venture. We intend to go ahead with a second festival next summer."

The church hosted a display on the history of Brampton potteries, with expert Brian Carter answering questions, a fair and a barbecue.
