Fun-loving pupils helped raise a record-breaking amount of money for their Chesterfield school by hosting a carnival.
Brampton Primary School, off Chatsworth Road, crowned its carnival king, Jamie Anson, and queen, Danielle Rawson, who led a parade before returning to its fair with parents and residents.

Headteacher Martin Finch said: "The pupils and everyone involved had a wonderful time and did really well to raise a record-breaking £1,670 for the school."

The school helped revive a former village festival, known as The Brampton Feast, during festivities at the event, which included stalls, tombolas, a bouncy castle and face-painting.

Cosmopolitan youngsters, who have been learning about different countries, dressed up in costumes from around the world.
