Youngsters were on the ball when asked to interview one of Chesterfield Football Club's star strikers.

Jack Lester visited Brampton Primary School to be quizzed by students as part of their literacy classes.

Children are learning about biographies and the school decided to invite someone famous to help them.

Martin Finch, headteacher, said: "What we are trying to do here is give them a real purpose for writing rather than teachers just giving tasks out."

Once youngsters have written up their notes they will show Jack some of the biographies they have done.

The event was held as part of Book Week, which has seen a range of activities in school including teachers bringing in their favourite children's book, a competition to design a new Mr Man and a used book sale to raise cash for a fashion project.
