Two footbridges in Pleasley - at Church Lane and Rotherham Road - have closed for eight weeks while essential maintenance work is carried out by Derbyshire County Council.

Traffic on the A617 Mansfield to Chesterfield road will be affected by the work.

A contra flow system will be in place on the A617 under the Rotherham Road footbridge. And on the other side of the roundabout the A617 will be closed under the Church Lane footbridge and traffic will be diverted along Chesterfield Road.

Both footbridges will be closed to people while the work takes place. The bridges are being re-painted and minor repairs will be carried out.

Bus services will carry on as normal, although the bus stops close by will be moved temporarily.
