Man in hospital after Chesterfield assault

A man is recovering in hospital after being punched in the head during an argument.


The 20-year-old lad, from Lincolnshire, suffered bruising to his eye and a cut to the side of his head after being punched by an unknown male on Corporation Street, Chesterfield, on Sunday night.

He was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital, where his condition on Tuesday was described as 'improving'.

A police spokesman, said: "He had an argument with a lad on the street and while this happened another lad from the same group has punched him on the back of his head causing him to fall to the floor and bang his head."

He added the man had been out with friends, but had become temporarily separated from his group.

His attacker is described as a white male, around 6ft 1ins tall, medium build, with short, dark, gelled hair and in his late teens/early 20s. He was wearing a lime green jumper.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about Sunday's attack, at around 10pm, to call them on 0845 123 33 33.
