Crash driver fights for life
A road crash victim is fighting for his life after an articulated lorry was in collision with his car in Chesterfield.
The male driver of the Peugeot 206, thought to be in his late 20s, was injured when the collision happened about 10.25am today (Tuesday) on Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield.
A police spokesman said: "The male driver of the silver Peugeot 206 suffered serious injuries.
"He was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital for treatment and surgery and was said to be in a critical condition."
Police cordoned off the road and have launched an investigation to establish exactly what happened.
A police spokesman added: "Officers will be looking at both vehicles and the layout of the road and we're appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident to contact us as soon as possible."
