Council scoops skills accolade

Council bosses have been celebrating after they earned a national seal of approval for their efforts in developing staff skills and efficiency.
The Government-backed standards group Investors in People presented Bolsover District Council with its prestigious Investors in People award certificate.

Cllr Eion Watts, council leader, said: "We place the development of our employees very highly and make sure they have the right skills and are kept as informed as possible. Receiving this standard is also testament to their hard work and efforts."

Assessors praised the council's management, organisation, openess and trust, and staff expressed how the structure helped them develop and support customers.
