Bumper crowds flocked to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of entertainment at Tupton Carnival last Saturday.
Around 2,000 people turned out for the event which has been a key attraction in the village for the past seven years.

Tupton Scout Group and Tupton Rugby Club wowed crowds with fantastic floats.

And there were performing dogs, stilt walkers, unicyclists and marvellous moves from local dance group Primary Colours Dancing.

Jenny Kyurchieva took centre stage as carnival queen and her princesses were Rebecca Bingham, Jodie Burton and Amy Hall.

Jenny was crowned following the event which started on Queen Victoria Road and finished on Ford Street Green.

Joan Parmley, secretary of Tupton Events Committee, said: "We've been planning this for months now.

"And all the hard work paid off - it was an absolutely brilliant day.

"A big thank you must go to local people, the organisers and the participants."
