Residents of a Blackwell nursing home were treated to their own version of Ascot at the weekend.
Amberley Manor Nursing Home, on Primrose Hill, Blackwell, held the event on Saturday to celebrate the home’s name change from Pendean.

There were big hats for the ladies, as well as champagne and smoked salmon and one member of staff brought her horse along for the occasion.

Assistant manager Jane Keenan said: “We had a lovely afternoon but I wouldn’t have put any bets on the horse!”

l The home’s summer fair on Saturday July 25 will feature a brass band and Alfreton Male Voice Choir.
