Burglars stole an engagement ring from a 94-year-old woman while pretending to be water board workers.
A man knocked on the pensioner's door in The Parkway, Darley Dale, around 5.30pm on Friday and asked to check the water supply.

She shut the front door and invited the fraudster into her kitchen.
Meanwhile another man entered the house, told the first man to leave and chatted to the homeowner. Then both men left in a white van.

The resident later realised cash and the ring had been stolen.

The first man was white, around 5ft 10ins tall, between 30 and 40, had short mousey-coloured hair and wearing a white T-shirt and trousers.

The other man was taller and older.
