SIR — Allow us to thank, through your letters page, all the businesses and parents who contributed to the Matlock Pre-school Playgroup Summer Fair.
In particular we wish to thank: Armitt's Newsagents, The Ashford Arms, Bridge News, Chatsworth Farm Shop, The Co-op, Crich Tramway Museum, Gulliver's Kingdom, The Playmill, Real Edge Ltd, Simarc Guitars, Somerfield, Stanley Tools, and Wyld's Traditional Confectionary.

We are fully aware how often local businesses are asked for contributions to local events, and that they are always willing to help is testament to their commitment to the community, and it is greatly appreciated as without their support we would be unable to hold these fundraising events.

We would also like to thank all the parents who gave up their valuable time to help set up and run stalls, and also everyone who donated cakes and tombola prizes, two of our most popular stalls!

Finally we wish to thank all the families who came along and joined in the fun and helped us to raise a fantastic £575 towards improvements for the playgroup building. Your support is invaluable to the continued success of the playgroup.

Sarah Walker,
On behalf of Matlock Pre-school Playgroup Committee.
