Man dies in A61 crash

A north Derbyshire road has been closed following a fatal collision in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).
One man died in the smash involving a Renault van and a Vauxhall Vivaro van on the A61 between Clay Cross and Wingerworth at 5.45am.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said they were trying to identify the deceased, who died at the scene.

She said the road remained closed between the Royal Oak at Tupton and Thanet Street in Clay Cross.
