When each colliery had their own girls and boys brigade, they all gathered together at Edwinstowe for a big gala in 1935.
It was a wonderful show, says 83-year-old Mrs Mary Siddall — nee Holmes — and yes, it was a lovely hot summer's day.
"We Bolsover girls danced to the 'Irish washwoman' and the lovely 'Minuet' in beautiful Elizabethan costumes — some in lemon, some in lilac."
The picture above was taken the same year outside Bainbridge Hall at Bolsover and Mrs Siddall, who lives at Welbeck Street, Creswell, is pictured first on the left on the third row from the top.
